OUTREACH
As a church that loves God, love others and make a difference, outreach is essential. Our outreach strategy is based on Acts 1:8 where it says, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Based on this Scripture, our outreach initiatives are broken down into three major categories:
• Local outreach (Jerusalem)

• National missions (Judea and Samaria),

• Global missions (the uttermost parts of the world)

STRATEGIC PARTNERS
We believe there is power in partnership. Instead of reinventing the wheel, The Bridge strategically partner with organisations in our community, nation, and the world that are already doing an outstanding job at making a difference. We come alongside to provide service and resources.
Shepherd’s Table
The Bridge has partnered with Shepherd’s Table to help provide dinner to those that are homeless and in need in our community. We currently serve every first Wednesday of the month from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. For more information contact: outreach@thebridgedc.org
Central Union Missions
Central Union Mission is a faith-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit organisation in the Washington metropolitan area. The Mission operates as an emergency shelter program, a rehabilitation program for men with life-controlling issues, a food, clothing and furniture distribution centre, a retreat and recreation centre with a camp for underprivileged children, programs for isolated seniors, computer and job training and transitional and low-cost housing. Its current programs serve homeless men, underprivileged women, children, seniors, families, and veterans. We currently serve here a few months out of the year and as needed. For more information contact: outreach@thebridgedc.org
A Wider Circle
A Wider Circle is a non-profit organisation that provides basic need items to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, or otherwise living without everyday necessities. We currently help volunteer with their neighbour-to-neighbor program throughout the year. For more information contact: outreach@thebridgedc.org
Child Sponsorship
The Bridge has partnered with an organization called One Child Matters to begin sponsoring children in need. Please visit our sponsorship website for more information at: http://thebridgedc.onechildmatters.org/
INSIDE OUT
During each Group session, each Life Group participates in an outreach activity of their choice. This allows each group to serve and meet a need in our community. For more information on your Life Group’s Inside Out activity, please contact your Life Group leader.
INVEST & INVITE
We make a difference through personal relationships. There are people all around us that are in need of hope. We can leverage relationships as opportunities to invite people to experience God. Click here to invite someone to The Bridge.
MISSION TRIPS
The Bridge is committed to serving areas outside of its own community. We don’t see missions as a means of enforcing a preconceived agenda on a community or nation. Rather, we go with a heart to serve in whatever capacity is needed through the love of Jesus Christ. We embark on mission trips nationally and internationally.
CITY LOVE
City Love is where we show God’s love by serving our neighbours, community, and surrounding area through various local outreach initiatives that include prayer walks, gift bag distribution, water handouts, free movie passes, and serving in various other local opportunities throughout the year. For more information contact: outreach@thebridgedc.org
FRANKLYN SQUARE
There are many homeless people that sleep on the streets of Washington DC every day. Many of them gather at Franklyn Square in Washington D.C. You can be a part of serving the homeless community by helping serve food, blankets, toiletries, and other needed items. For more information contact: outreach@thebridgedc.org
